Projected record: 9-7(possible wildcard)
The Saints finally get their head coach back, Sean Payton, after he was suspended all season last season. The Saints didn't miss a beat on offense last season without Payton but the defense was historically bad. Enter Rob Ryan and his attack first 3-4 defense. The Saints drafted Kenny Vaccaro and John Jenkins to help toughen up the defense but Ryan's defense is tough to learn so expect some growing pains Saints fans. With Jonathan Vilma and Will Smith returning the defense will have veteran leadership to help with the learning curve. Drew Brees and the offense will be explosive as usual with Brees favorite targets returning. Look for Jimmy Graham, Marques Colston, Lance Moore and Darren Sproles to have major impact of this season. The Saints look establish a running game with the combo of Mark Ingram and Pierre Thomas. If the Saints want to get back in playoff contention they will need to keep Drew Brees upright and create turnovers on defense. Look for the Saints to be in the playoff hunt this fall.
